Save the Elephants (STE) is a non-profit organisation founded in 1993 by Iain Douglas-Hamilton. Its main aim is to ensure that elephants do not become extinct and to protect the habitats in which they live. The organisation focuses on three main areas: protection, research, and awareness. It works to stop the illegal hunting of elephants, especially in Africa and Asia. In addition, STE cooperates with scientists and experts to study elephant behaviour, helping people better understand these animals. The organisation also raises public awareness through films, television, and various new media platforms. Thanks to its efforts, Save the Elephants has supported 335 projects in 40 countries. Overall, STE plays an important role in conserving elephants and educating people about their importance to the ecosystem.
