The complex of relics and unique architecture have created the beauty of Hoan Kiem Lake:  Pen Tower, Inkstone (renovated and built by Confucian scholar Nguyen Van Sieu).  The tower is built of stone, the top of the tower is shaped like a brush pen. The body of the tower is engraved with three words “Ta Thanh Thien” (meaning writing on the blue sky).  Inkstone (inkstone made of stone, shaped like half a peach cut lengthwise, with the image of three frogs on its back). – The Huc Bridge (meaning retaining the beautiful sunlight) leads to the gate of Ngoc Son Temple. The bridge is made of wood, painted red, curved like a shrimp.
