Save the Elephants (STE) is a non-profit organisation that was set up in 1993 by Iain Douglas-Hamilton. Its main goal is to make sure elephants are not extinct and to protect the places where they live. STE works in three important areas. First, they focus on protection by stopping illegal elephant hunting, especially in Africa and Asia. Second, they do research with scientists to learn more about how elephants behave. This helps them find better ways to take care of these animals. Third, they raise awareness by using films, TV shows, and online media to teach people about the need to protect elephants. Thanks to their hard work, they have supported 335 projects in 40 different countries around the world. Save the Elephants plays a big role in helping elephants survive and live safely in their natural homes.
