Save the Elephants (STE) is a non-profit organization. It was started in 1993 by Iain Douglas-Hamilton. The aim of the organization is to make sure elephants do not die out and to protect the places where they live. STE works in three main areas: protection, research, and awareness. They try to stop people from hunting elephants illegally, especially in Africa and Asia. They also work with scientists to learn more about how elephants live and behave. Another important job of STE is to help people understand why elephants are important. They do this by using films, TV programs, and social media. So far, STE has supported 335 projects in 40 countries around the world.
