Minecraft is an independent video game in an open world. It was originally created by Swedish programmer Markus "Notch" Persson and later developed and published by Mojang. Ability to innovate and build Minecraft allow players to build constructions by building the building blocks in a 3D world. In 2012, Minecraft was awarded a Golden Joystick at Best Downloadable Game category. September 15, 2014, Microsoft announced a deal to buy Mojang and Minecraft ownership, intellectual property rights for 2.5 billion US dollars; the acquisition was completed on November 6, 2014.
