The time was currently 8am sharp. Our family had woken up early for a bright new day of fun and exciting events. Since it was the weekends, I had planned ahead a morning picnic for our whole family. We pack the picnic basket with breakfast delicacies, overfilling it with a variety of nutritional fruits and grains. From ripe bananas and fresh apples to delicious homemade sandwiches and crisp chips. After a few last-minute change of clothes and the rushing voices of our parents, hurrying us to the car, our family was off to the new park that opened downtown. The quiet morning suburb had quickly transitioned to the bustling chatter of the awakened city. I take in the subtle but sweet smell wafting from the outdoor patio as business women sip latte's with pinkies lifted high. After a few minutes I could finally see the evergreen landscape emerge from within the tall and grand glass buildings that had towered over us as we drove. It was a beautiful lush sea of green, filled with laughing children and happy couples. The crisp morning breeze softly played with my hair as I stepped out the car. It felt wonderful. Our family laid out the mouth-watering foods as we sat down and ate. I couldn't get enough of the juicy fresh oranges my mom had packed. It was delicious. After we finished, my brother and I thought it'd be a good idea to go swimming. We were right, the sparkling clear water cooled us from the summer heat as we splashed gracefully through the soft waves. That was the most fun I've had in a while. I can't wait for next week!
