Most people in my country have only lived in cities for the past thirty years. Before that they have lived in villages or small towns by the sea or in the mountains. This is why it is not unusual to hear even young children who they have lived in cities all their lives are talking about 'their village'. What they mean is the place where their parents were grew up or previous generations of their family lived. Even today although 'the village' is an important part of the lives of the majority of people who now make their living in cities. Most families still have yet a house in a village somewhere around the country and they return at there in the summer or during other holidays to help with the family land or just to spend time with friends and relatives. There is a wonderful sense of community and a shared past in each these villages which is so different from the cities in where most of us live. If these villages can survive, I am sure people will find it more easier to spend time in them in the future. People who have made many money in the cities will start to can invest in their old family homes and help to maintain this lovely aspect of family life in my country.
