1. Quy tắc thêm đuôi “ed”

• Thêm “d” vào động từ kết thúc bằng “e”:
  Ex: 
  Live → lived
  Agree → agreed
  → d
  Move → moved
• Thêm “ed” vào động từ còn lại:

      + Đối với động từ 1 âm tiết và động từ 2 âm tiết có trọng âm ở sau: gấp đôi phụ âm rồi thêm “ed” 
  Ex: 
  Fit → Fitted
  Stop → stopped
  Hug → hugged
  Rub → rubbed
  Permit → permitted
  Travel → travelled
  
      + Đối với động từ có 2 âm tiết có trọng âm ở âm tiết đầu: chỉ thêm “ed” mà không gấp đôi phụ âm 
  Ex: 
  Listen → listened
  Enter → entered
   
• Động từ kết thúc bằng phụ âm “y”
  - Trước âm “y” có một nguyên âm: chỉ thêm “ed”
  Ex: 
  Play → played
  Obey → obeyed
  - Trước âm “y” là một nguyên âm: biến “y” thành “i” rồi thêm “ed”

  Deny → denied
  Hurry → hurried
  Carry → carried

2. Cách phát âm đuôi “ed”

Có 3 cách phát âm đối với đuôi “ed” của động từ:

• Phát âm là /id/
  Động từ có phát âm cuối là /t/ hoặc /d/ (các từ có âm tận cùng là t, d)
  Ex:
  Want /wɒnt/ → wanted /wɒntid/
  Decide /dɪˈsaɪd/ → decided /dɪˈsaɪdid/
  Interest /ˈɪn.trəst/ → interested /ˈɪn.trəstid/
  Permit /pəˈmɪt/ → permitted /pəˈmɪtid/
• Phát âm là /t/
  Động từ có phát âm cuối là các âm vô thanh: /p/, /k/, /f/, /s/, /∫/, /t∫/ (các từ có âm tận cùng là p, k, gh, s, sh, ch)

Emperor Ly Thanh Tong founded The Temple of Literature in 1070. Now it is considered as one of the historic and cultural sites of Vietnam. And then in 1076 Emperor Ly Nhan Tong built The Imperial Academy as the first university of Vietnam.

In 1484, Emperor Le Thanh Tong built the first Doctor’s stone tablet there to memorize the devotion of Doctors. Now it is recognized as the World heritage by UNESCO. In 2003, the Ha Noi People Committee built four statues of Emperor Ly Thanh Tong, Emperor Ly Nhan Tong, King Le Thanh Tong, and Chu Van An who founded and developed Temple of Literature – Imperial Academy.

The Temple of Literature is a very famous historic and cultural site of Viet Nam. It's established by Ly Thanh Tong in 1076. It was continuingly developed by the later Kings. In the Temple of Literature, there is the Imperial Academy. It was built by the Emperor Ly Nhan Tong. It's considered the first University of Vietnam. And in 1484, Emperor Le Thanh Tong built the first Doctor's stone tablet to memorize the contribution of Doctors. In 2010, the 82 Doctor's stone tablets were recognised as World Heritage by UNESCO. In 2003, Ha Noi People's Committee constructed the four statues of Chu Van An, Ly Thanh Tong, Ly Nhan Tong and Le Thanh Tong to memorize their contribution. Nowadays, the Temple of Literature is visited by a lot of tourists and students every year.
