1.1. Câu tường thuật ở dạng câu kể

S + say(s)/said + (that) + S + V

Says/say to + O -> tells/tell + O                                         

Said to + O ->told+O

Ex: He said to me”I haven’t finished my work” -> He told me he hadn’t finished his work.

1.2. Câu tường thuật trong tiếng anh ở dạng câu hỏi

Yes/No questions:

S+asked/wanted to know/wondered+if/wether+S+V

Ex: ”Are you angry?”he asked -> He asked if/whether I was angry

(Chuyển câu hỏi ở câu trực tiếp sang dạng khẳng định rồi thực hiện thay đổi thì và trạng từ chỉ thời gian, nơi chốn, chủ ngữ, tân ngữ...)

Wh-questions:

S + asked(+O)/wanted to know/wondered + Wh-words + S + V

Says/say to + O  -> asks/ask + O

Said to + O  -> asked + O.

Ex: ”What are you talking about?”said the teacher -> The teacher asked us what we were talking about

1.3. Câu tường thuật trong tiếng anh ở dạng câu mệnh lệnh

Dạng khẳng định: S + told + O + to-infinitive

Ex: ”Please wait for me here, Mary” Tom said -> Tom told Mary to wait for him there

Dạng phủ định: S + told + O + not to-infinitive

Ex: ”Don’t talk in class”,the teacher said to us. ->The teacher told us not to talk in class. 

1.4. Câu tường thuật trong tiếng anh ở dạng câu điều kiện ở lời nói gián tiếp

Điều kiện có thật, có thể xảy ra (Điều kiện loại 1): Chúng ta áp dụng quy tắc chung của lời nói gián tiếp đó là lùi thì.

Ex: He said,”If I have much money, I’ll travel around the world” -> He said (that) If he had much money, he would travel around the world

Điều kiện không có thật/giả sử (Điều kiện loại 2, loại 3): Chúng ta giữ nguyên, không đổi.

Ex: ”If I had two wings, I would fly everywhere”,he said -> He said If he had two wings, he would fly everywhere

Công thức: 
People /they + think/ say/ suppose/ believe/ consider/ report.....+ that + clause.
>> Bị động:
a/ It's + thought/said/ supposed/believed/considered/reported...+ that + clause

b/ Động từ trong clause để ở thì HTDG hoặc TLĐ
S + am/is/are + thought/ said/supposed... + to + Vinf
VD: People say that he is a good doctor.
>> It's said that he is a good doctor.
He is said to be a good doctor.
c/ Động từ trong clause để ở thời QKDG hoặc HTHT.
S + am/is/are + thought/ said/ supposed... + to + have + P2.
VD: People think he stole my car.
>> It's thought he stole my car.
He is thought to have stolen my car.

2/ Khi main verb ở thời QUÁ KHỨ.

Công thức: 
People/they + thought/said/supposed...+ that + clause.
>>Bị động:
a/ It was + thought/ said/ supposed...+ that + clause.
b/ Động từ trong clause để ở thì QKĐ:
S + was/were + thought/ said/ supposed... + to + Vinf.
VD: People said that he is a good doctor.
>> It was said that he is a good doctor.
He was said to be a good doctor.
c/ Động từ trong clause ở thì QKHT 
S + was/were + thought/ said/ supposed... + to + have + P2.
VD: They thought he was one of famous singers.
>> It was thought he was one of famous singers. He was thought to be one of famous singers.

b/ Động từ trong clause để ở thì Quákhứ đơn:

S + was/were + thought/ said/supposed... + to + Vinf.

E.g.: People said that he is a good doctor => It was said that he is a good doctor hoặc He was said to be a good doctor.

c/ Động từ trong clause ở thì Quá khứ hoàn thành

S + was/were + thought/ said/supposed... + to + have + V3/ED.

E.g.: They thought he was one of famous singers => It was thought he was one of famous singers hoặc He was thought to be one of famous singers.
