Cấu trúc chung của máy tính gồm các khối chức năng: bộ xử lí trung tâm; thiết bị vào và thiết bị ra (thường được gọi chung là thiết bị vào/ra). Ngoài ra, để lưu trữ thông tin, máy tính điện tử còn có thêm một khối chức năng quan trọng nữa là bộ nhớ.
*  Bộ xử lí trung tâm (CPU)
Bộ xử lí trung tâm có thể được coi là bộ não của máy tính. CPU thực hiện các chức năng tính toán, điều khiển và phối hợp mọi hoạt động của máy tính theo sự chỉ dẫn của chương trình.
*  Bộ nhớ
Bộ nhớ là nơi lưu các chương trình và dữ liệu.
Người ta chia bộ nhớ thành hai loại: bộ nhớ trong và bộ nhớ ngoài. Bộ nhớ trong được dùng để lưu chương trình và dữ liệu trong quá trình máy tính làm việc.
Phần chính của bộ nhớ trong là RAM. Khi máy tính tắt, toàn bộ các thông tin trong RAM sẽ bị mất đi.
Bộ nhớ ngoài được dùng để lưu trữ lâu dài chương trình và dữ liệu. Đó là đĩa cứng, đĩa CD/DVD, thiết bị nhớ flash (thường được gọi là USB),... Thông tin lưu trên bộ nhớ ngoài không bị mất đi khi ngắt điện.

Một tham số quan trọng của thiết bị lưu trữ là dung lượng nhớ (khả năng lưu trữ dữ liệu nhiều hay ít).

Đơn vị chính dùng để đo dung lượng nhớ là byte (đọc là bai) (1 byte gồm 8 bit). Các thiết bị nhớ hiện nay có thể có dung lượng nhớ lên tới nhiều tỉ byte. Do vậy, người ta còn dùng các bội số của byte để đo dung lượng nhớ. Em có thể tìm thấy trong bảng dưới đây một vài đơn vị đo như thế (kí hiệu 2¹⁰ được đọc là "hai mũ 10" và có giá trị bằng 10 số 2 nhân với nhau):

Thiết bị vào/ra còn có tên gọi là thiết bị ngoại vi giúp máy tính trao đổi thông tin với bên ngoài, đảm bảo việc giao tiếp với người dùng. Last traditional Lunar New Year, my family organized a trip to Cambodia, and it was an exciting trip. We did not go by airway; instead we chose to go by long-distance bus. After about 10 hours of sitting in the bus, we finally came to Xa Xia border which was located right next to Ha Tien. It was my first time out of the Vietnamese territory, and the religious atmosphere at Cambodia made me feel very impressed. After crossing the border, we spent about 3 more hours on the bus before reaching a small coastal province called Sihanouk. My parents were tired after a long trip, so they decided to have a rest at the hotel. However, my sister and I spent the entire afternoon wandering in the local markets. We bought a lot of interesting things, and what I like most was the delicious durian. The atmosphere there was hotter than Vietnam, so we could only comfortably go sightseeing when the sun completely disappeared. Right in the center of the town is a giant golden lion statue - Sihanouk's symbol, and I noticed that almost every major building here has a casino. Early in the next morning we boarded the ship to move to Korong Salem Island, and this was one of the most famous islands in Cambodia. After about 45 minutes on the boat, Korong Island appeared as a paradise beach with white sand and green coconut palms. The water there was crystal clear and as calm as a swimming pool. We spent a whole day swimming and playing along the beach, and we only had lunch when the sun began to shine brightly. The next day we visited some famous pagodas, and the trip ended late at night. Although I had to travel for a long way, but I feel this trip was worth it. Experiencing a new culture in Cambodia is a really exciting thing, and I hope I have opportunity to visit more countries.

The summer before my junior year in high school, my family and I took a trip to a completely new world. Being from a small town, I had never really been exposed to the elements of a large city such as New York City. My trip there was discovering an entirely new way of life that I had only heard stories of previously.

For about the tenth time the morning of the flight, I checked my room to make sure I didn’t leave anything essential behind. My stomach was doing flips as we arrived at the airport and made our way to the gate. It didn’t get much better than this: I watched through the window as the runway zoomed by and the buildings and houses became smaller and smaller as the plane gained altitude. An exhilarating feeling overcame me as I realized that I would soon be in one of the most amazing cities of the United States.

As we stood waiting for a taxi outside of the airport, it was immediately apparent to me that New York City was not the same as New Caney, Texas. It seemed everyone there was in a hurry to get to another place. The loud and constant sound of cars honking was heard throughout the entire trip. As soon as a car seemed to be going slower than the person behind him d, he would hear the horn of that car to let him know that he was apparently holding everybody else up! When we found our hotel in Times Square, I noed that it wasn’t just the cars that were in a hurry. Everyone in the streets was walking at a brisk pace that indicated a rush to be somewhere. The transportation of the city was also far different than anything that I had ever been exposed to. In my little town, a bike, a car, or even walking was perfectly suitable for getting around town, but in this foreign land, there were many more ways for one to get to another destination. Everywhere you looked, there were people hailing taxis, waiting on buses, rushing underground to the subway stations, walking franally, or desperately trying to maneuver their own cars through the busy streets. Just standing and watching the many people rushing their own separate ways was an interesting observation.

In addition to the people and transportation, the buildings were also an incredible sight. Each street was crammed with buildings that were built side by side with no room in between them, and a number of skyscrapers were present throughout the city as well. I was awestruck again as we went inside some of these buildings such as the Empire State Building and made our way towards the top. Standing outside of one of the top stories of the Empire State Building was awesome. I could hold the entire city in my hand from this view. I could even see Ellis Island a distance away from there. The stores were also large compared to the ones of my little town. A small retail store in New Caney would be a huge store that took up an entire building in New York. This would make it seem logical that the prices of everything in New York were almost triple those back home. It was as if the little peaceful neighborhood where I lived was magnified by 100 to make up the wonder city of New York.

My visit to New York City was a life changing experience. For the first time in my life, I was exposed to a little taste of what the real world is . The incredible modes of transportation, the huge skyscrapers, and all of the thousands of people made me anxious to grow up and perhaps move to an incredible city such as this one. Either way, my first trip to New York was one of the most incredible experiences of my life, one I will always treasure.

Xưa kia, vào tục truyền đời Hùng Vương thứ 6 ở làng Gióng có đôi vợ trồng nọ rất chăm chỉ làm ăn vả có tiếng là phúc đức.Tuy vậy nhưng lấy nhau đã lâu mà họ vẫn chưa có một mụn con,họ buồn lắm.Một hôm người vợ ra đồng và thấy một vết chân lớn.Vì tò mò bà liền đặt chân lên ướm thử để xem thua kém bao nhiêu,nào ngờ về nhà bà thụ thai.Hai vợ chồng bà mừng lắm nhưng thật lạ,bà mang thai đến mười hai tháng mới sinh ra một cậu bé khôi ngô tuấn tú lạ thường.Niềm vui vừa được thắp lên chưa đươc bao lâu thì đã đươc thay thế bởi lổi buồn và sự lo lắng do đã lên 3 mà cậu bé vẫn chưa biết nói biết cười.
