Cách dùng Advise:

a.Các cấu trúc Advise phổ biến:

-Form: S + advise + somebody + of + something…

(Báo cho ai biết về việc gì…)

Ex: Please advise me of the dispatch of the goods. (Làm ơn báo cho tôi khi hàng hóa đã được gửi).

-Form: S + advise + somebody + to + something…

= S + advise + somebody + on + something…

(Khuyên ai đó nên làm gì…)

Ex: My mother advised me to go to bed early.

= My mother advised me on going to bed early. ( Mẹ tôi khuyên tôi nên đi ngủ sớm).

-Form: S + advise + somebody + against + Ving + something…

= S + advise + not + to Vinf + something…

(Khuyên ai đó không nên làm gì…)

Ex: I advised Nam against smoking. (Tôi khuyên Nam không nên hút thuốc).

= I advised not to smoke.

– Cấu trúc Advise có thể theo sau bởi “that + mệnh đề” :

Ex: Mai advised that they should start early. (Mai khuyên họ nên bắt đầu sớm)

Chú ý: Nhiều người thường nhầm lẫn cách dùng Advise và Recommend? cấu trúc và cách dùng Recommend sẽ có trong bài học này.

b.Viết lại câu với cấu trúc Advise:

4.Lưu ý

Khi sử dụng Advise cần phân biệt với cấu trúc Advice để tránh nhầm lẫn:

Advice (n) : lời khuyên

Ex: Peter never listen to her advice. (Peter không bao giờ nghe lời khuyên của cô ấy).
