\(=x^2+1-\frac{\left(x^2-2\right)\left(x+1\right)\left(x-1\right)}{\left(x+1\right)\left(x-1\right)}\)
\(=x^2+1-\left(x^2-2\right)\)
\(=x^2+1-x^2+2\)
\(=3\)
