 Ở Việt Nam, mỗi ngày có gần 30 người bị tai nạn giao thông cướp đi mạng sống cùng với hàng trăm người bị thương tật suốt đời. Điều đó đồng nghĩa với mỗi ngày có hàng trăm gia đình Việt Nam gánh chịu sự mất mát khủng khiếp. Đây là điều không thể chấp nhận được với một đất nước đang sống trong hòa bình. Thiệt hại to lớn về nhân mạng là không gì bù đắp được. Những đau thương, mất mát mà gia đình nạn nhân phải gánh chịu là rất lớn. Những di chứng mà mỗi tai nạn giao thông để lại luôn kéo dài và không thể lường hết được, khiến xã hội cũng bị tổn thương nghiêm trọng. Thêm vào đó, gia đình nạn nhân và ngân sách quốc gia phải chịu thêm gánh nặng hàng ngàn tỷ đồng để khắc phục hậu quả của tai nạn giao thông hàng năm. Điều đó đe dọa nghiêm trọng đến những thành quả của tăng trường kinh tế, đồng thời làm tổn thương đến hình ảnh một đất nước an toàn trong mắt bạn bè, đối tác. Đã đến lúc mỗi người Việt Nam cần phải nhận thức sâu sắc về tác hại khôn lường của tai họa này đến toàn bộ tiến trình vươn lên của dân tộc, đến sự phát triển lành mạnh của giống nòi. Đã đến lúc cần phải dũng cảm và chân thành nhìn thẳng vào sự thật là trong mỗi tai nạn giao thông, có cả lỗi và trách nhiệm của từng cá nhân, của cả cộng đồng và Nhà nước. Bằng nhiều hành động mạnh mẽ, thông qua các chính sách quốc gia và những cam kết xã hội, chúng ta đang làm mọi cách để giảm thiểu số vụ tai nạn giao thông - kèm theo đó là giảm thiểu số người chết và bị thương. Nhưng chúng ta vẫn có thể và cần phải làm nhiều hơn nữa. Nhà nước, các tổ chức xã hội, các đoàn thể cho đến từng cá nhân, đều phải chung tay hành động và hành động một cách quyết liệt. Hoạt động tưởng niệm các nạn nhân mà chúng ta cùng thế giới tổ chức là một sự kiện đặc biệt, là dịp để mọi người bày tỏ niềm thương xót với những người xấu số khi tham gia giao thông; bày tỏ sự chia sẻ mất mát, chia sẻ gánh nặng với người thân của họ. Lễ tưởng niệm cũng là một cơ hội nhắc nhở chính mình, người thân, bạn bè, các thành viên trong cộng đồng ... về tầm quan trọng của việc phải chủ động góp phần tạo ra một môi trường giao thông an toàn cho mình và cho cộng đồng. Mỗi người hãy nghiêm chỉnh chấp hành luật giao thông, tự giác nhường nhịn, giúp đỡ nhau khi tham gia giao thông. Mỗi gia đình, nhà trường cần phải giáo dục con em của chúng ta từ khi còn bé về ý thức trách nhiệm với bản thân và cộng đồng khi tham gia giao thông. Hãy vi niềm thương xót những người đã mất mà hành động cho sự an toàn của những người đang sống! Ủy ban An toàn giao thông Quốc gia kêu gọi mỗi người dân Việt Nam, vì sự phát triển của đất nước, vì sự an toàn của bản thân, vì tương lai của con cháu mình, hãy làm tất cả những gì có thể để giao thông ở đất nước chúng ta ngày càng phát triển theo hướng văn minh, an toàn hơn.

I'm very happy when I received your letter. I'm writing this letter to tell you about the party I went last week. That was my best friend birthday party.

Huong is my close friend. She turned 25 recently and her parents held a birthday party for her. I was one of those invited. The party began at about three in the afternoon. There were about twenty guests gathered in her house. We were all dressed in our best clothes. Everyone, especially Huong was very happy. We gave our presents to her and she happily opened them. It must really be exciting to receive all those presents. After that her mother served us soft drinks and delicious titbits. We then played some games "Musical Chairs" and "Treasure Hunt". The winners were given prizes. At about four-thirty her father brought out the birthday cake. It was beautifully decorated with pink and white ice cream. 25 colorful candles sat in the middle of the cake. We all sang "Happy Birthday" to Huong after which she blew out the candles and cut the cake. Everyone clapped out hands eagerly. We helped ourselves to slices of the delicious cake. Then we continued our games.

Finally at about six in the evening the party came to an end. We were all tired but happy. I helped Huong and her parent clean up the mess we made. After that I walked home with a very good feeling .That's all for now. Hope to see you soon.
