Hi everybody, my name is ** and today, I'd like to tell you about my day. I ensure that everybody is wondering a lot about my day, yeah? Now, you can know it. My day starts at 5 o'clock when I get up. Then I brush my teeth as well as get dressed. I get up early so as to learn by heart my lessons at school since the previous night, I just did the exercises, I didn't learn by heart my lessons because I realize that if we learn by heart something at night, we can't remember it for a long time but when we study at early morning, it really works. I do and I have a good memory now. I find it hard to forget my lessons. It's fabulous! Then I carry on my progress until 6.15 a.m. I stop studying to have a rest and have breakfast with my family and we finish by 6.45 a.m. Afterwards, I go to my extra class which starts at 7 and don't come home until 8.30 a.m. Next, my mother picks me up at my extra class and drives me home. She lets me relax for about 15 minutes so that I won't feel so confused and tired. You can see that my mother is very easy-going as she never makes me to study a lot as well as puts pressure on me. She often tells me that I should study in a comfortable way and shouldn't importanize the scores so much and she emphasizes that my knowledge is the most important, not my scores. She doesn't mind about my scores at school. My day continues with lunch at 11.30 a.m. Then at 11.45 a.m, I have a shower and prepare the clothes and the books to be ready to go to school. My school is not the same as other schools. The seventh and eighth-graders have classes at 12.45 a.m because my school doesn't have enough classes so the school time is divided into two times-morning and afternoon. Then after 5 classes, I go home at 5 o'clock and then I start retelling my mother about my studies at school and shows her my marks. Then I have a shower again. My mother never lets me stay any longer if I don't wash my body again because she really knows that my sweat is very sour. Then I have dinner at 6 p.m. I watch TV after that until 6.30 p.m. Next, I start working with my work at school. hehehehe

The forest's most important role in life on earth is to purify air, supply oxygen to life. Forest is the lungs of the earth. The more life is, the more factories, the more engines ... the more forests need to balance the air.

In soil protection, erosion control, forest flood prevention also plays an important role. Rootless evergreen forest roots cling to the soil, keeping the soil from the sweeping floods. The dense jungle blocks the speed of heavy rainfalls preventing erosion. What else? Large wooden trunks, low-lying shrubs block the flow velocity of floods, creating time to soak up the soil, preventing floods from rushing.

Besides the role of natural balance, forests are also a valuable resource for economic development. No one can deny the wealth of old timbers, from herbs, from wild animals, from ecotourism sites.

It can be said that forests are invaluable resources, if lost, it is difficult to recover.

We are now facing the excessively increasing consumption of energy all over the world. It is predicted that global energy consumption will rise nearly sixty percent in the next twenty years. This rise is caused by some factors such as population growth, urbanization, and economic and industrial expansion.
Seeking cheap, clean, effective sources of power, some countries are hopeful of being able to produce part of their electricity with renewable means such as wind or solar power. On a cloudy day in Britain, a solar roof can generate enough electricity for the household to play 140 hours of TV and make 35 cups of tea. One kilowatt of solar energy can save up to a ton of CO2 emissions each year. Solar panels and wind generators help to provide alternative sources of energy for private homes, and they are no longer too expensive. These renewable energy systems can lead to big savings for households in the long run and in Britain the government is providing financial help with the cost of installing them.
In addition to the use of renewable energy sources, human beings now know how to save energy more efficiently. Companies make electrical equipment which is environment-friendly and money-saving. Refrigerators, washing machines, tumble dryers and other home appliances are labeled to help consumers compare the energy efficiency of each model with other appliances in the same category. Households also try to save energy in whatever way. Ordinary light bulbs are replaced with energy-saving bulbs. Having a shower instead of a bath becomes more common. TVs, electric fans and air conditioners are turned off when they are not in use. Those are simple actions but they contribute significantly to the energy saving movement.
In a nutshell, using renewable energy sources and saving energy at home not only saves money but also protects the Earth’s resources.

Electric Cars

Hybrids vehicles, with their combination of both gas and battery power, represent 3% of the cars on the road today, up from zero just ten years ago. Fully electric cars like the Nissan Leaf and Tesla are mere curiosities, representing only 0.1% of all cars purchased in the U.S.

It might seem like a slow start, but electric cars will soon form the majority of all vehicles. Here’s why:

Except for early adopters of technology and diehard environmental customers, most people aren’t buying a fuel type, they’re buying transportation. They may want speed or economical transportation or family-friendly minivans, but how the vehicle is powered isn’t their main concern.

Examples like the Tesla have shown that electric vehicles perform on par with gas-powered cars. What limits their adoption then? Two factors: cost and range (and charging infrastructure, to a lesser extent, but that will be remedied when there is more demand).

The Nissan Leaf battery pack alone costs about $18,000 (though government incentives bring down the overall vehicle cost to the customer). When comparable gas-powered cars are about $20,000, the high cost of the battery pack alone is a huge barrier to widespread adoption, whether the cost passed on to the customer or the government, or hidden by the manufacturer.

Ramez Naam, author of The Infinite Resource: The Power of Ideas on a Finite Planet, recently explained that lithium-ion batteries have a fifteen year history of exponential price reduction. Between 1991 and 2005, the capacity that could be bought with $100 went up by a factor of 11. The trend continues through to the present day.

This exponential reduction in battery cost and improvement in battery technology, more than anything else, will affect both the cost and range of electric cars. By 2025, that Nissan Leaf battery pack will cost less than $1,800, making the cost of the electric motor plus battery pack less than the price of a comparable gasoline motor. Assuming even modest increases in storage capacity, the electric vehicle will rank better on initial cost, range, performance, and ongoing maintenance and fuel costs.

With both lower cost and better performance, electric vehicles will likely overtake gasoline-powered ones by about 2025.

Video games are a part of today’s modern world. If you look around you, everyone is playing a video game. The father and son having a coffee and a milkshake are too busy playing video games to communicate. The teenager who is struggling in school, instead of considering her studies, is playing a video game because she is addicted to it. What is a video game? This electronic game involves human interaction with a user interface to provide visual feedback on a video device. Are they good for you? Well, maybe there are advantages. But, the disadvantages greatly outnumber the advantages.

Firstly, let’s consider the health repercussions of video games. Sitting in one place, moving your fingers or thumbs around, cannot be good for health. According to research, playing video games increases the risk of various diseases including heart diseases, arthritis, diabetes and many more. In addition, usually when sitting in one place, one tends to munch on snacks, and these are not the healthy ones! Too many calories with too little exercise results in obesity. Obesity can increase your risk of heart attacks and diabetes, high blood pressure etc. So, a healthy life is out of the window and this is the main disadvantage of playing video games.

Secondly, video games are addictive. All you care about is forging ahead to the next level. You sit and play for many hours and forget about everything else. All you care about is overcoming your obstacles in order to get to the next level. So, the moment you come home, you switch on your game and sit and play because you really cannot think of anything else. Your friends call you to go out, your term paper is due in a few weeks and all you that is on your mind is your video game. You are falling behind in your academic studies and you don’t care. This form of addiction is another disadvantage of video games.

Computer vision syndrome is a condition many computer users get by staring at a computer screen the whole day. This is not a specific problem; rather it is a range of eyestrain and pain associated with frequent computer use. This is similar to carpal tunnel syndrome. Continued focus on one thing can strain the eye muscles. It is very different to the focus you give when reading because a computer screen has a glare in the background, the screen flickers from time to time etc. Most often, constant use of computers or video games can cause blurred vision, double vision, headaches and eye irritation all related to computer vision syndrome.

Video games can have many disadvantages for children. For example, according to research, violent games produce aggressive children. Playing video games that have a lot of shooting and killing in them increases children’s anger and brings out aggressive behaviour.

So, does this mean playing video games has to stop? No. It simply means that we must know when to stop and say “that’s it! I’m done for today”. We must be able to get up and walk away, have a good social life and lead a healthy life. These are far more crucial than a game.
