In the age of global technology, surely we are no stranger to intelligent robots using AI technology. Population aging is a global problem. To solve this problem, some scientists have created robots to ease the lives of the elderly. But a problem arises: Some people strongly believe that governments should spend more money on creating human-like robots to ease the life of the elderly. Others strongly believe that the money should be spent on the elderly, not on robots. I write this post to write down my thoughts on this dilemma. The world is moving towards modernization and industrialization. Work productivity will be more effective, reducing human labor. They don't need rest, they don't need pay, they don't fight, they don't get sick. The benefits mentioned above help the state and authorities at all levels save large budgets. However, besides that, robots also have certain limitations. Firstly, they are easily damaged if not used properly. Second, they cannot deal with human history as flexibly as humans. There will be cases where robots don't understand humans and don't treat them properly. Thirdly, it will take a lot of money and time to make high quality robots. But all these limitations will be enhanced by scientists and made them the best they can be. It's only a matter of time. For example, in the factories of Amazon corporation - the business giant of the world uses a lot of robots. But it still takes a lot of people. Humans and robots there work very well together, making productivity very high, saving time, thereby earning a lot of money and trust from customers.But it will probably take a long time to optimize these robots. If the government invests too much in robots, many people will be unemployed. Society will be out of balance. There are very rich people and conversely, there are very poor people. During that time, the government must focus on investing directly in the elderly rather than in robots. Investing in people is always a wise choice. Thus, governments should spend more money on the elderly. Besides, they should spend on creating human-like robots to ease the life of the elderly, too.
